The 100-point best-match score
Partner status is not included in the numeric score. Every company receives points from the same five factors.

Ratings and review volume
A perfect score from a small sample is less reliable than a strong score supported by hundreds or thousands of customers. We therefore adjust each rating toward a conservative 4.0 baseline representing 100 reviews:
Adjusted rating = (reviews × rating + 100 × 4.0) ÷ (reviews + 100)
The adjusted result supplies up to 45 points. Review volume supplies another 20 points using a logarithmic scale capped at 2,000 reviews:
Review points = 20 × min(ln(1 + reviews) ÷ ln(2001), 1)
This means a company rated 4.5 from 2,000 reviews ranks above a company rated 5.0 from only 25 reviews when their other details are equal.
Price and report speed
Price points use a published one-bedroom fee so unlike property sizes are not compared. When a dedicated one-bedroom price is unavailable, a starting price is used only if its note explicitly says it applies to a one-bedroom property.

What the blue verification check means
Verified by SnagCompare means our team has spoken with and manually vetted the company. Verification adds 10 points. It is a trust signal based on that direct contact, not a guarantee of every future inspection or report.
Every Recommended partner must also be verified. A verified company does not need to be a commercial partner and does not automatically receive priority placement.
Missing information and tie-breakers
A missing rating, price or report-delivery time earns zero for that component. We do not estimate or invent unpublished information. This policy rewards companies that give customers complete, comparable details.
Within the Recommended and standard groups, companies are ordered by score, then review count, then company name. When a visitor chooses another column sort, Recommended partners remain grouped first and the selected value orders each group.
Google supplies public ratings and review counts. SnagCompare maintains price, delivery, verification and partnership information from direct research and company contact. Ranking rules last reviewed 12 September 2026.
